IвЂ™ve been there as the Miller brothers released each iteration in the series, and I kept the Myst games and icons installed on each subsequent computer even after modern software and operating systems could no longer play them.

Having been through every Myst game there ever was when I still had a decent pc to play them, I know the history. вЂњThereвЂ™s a great deal of history that you should know.вЂќ вЂ“ Atrus (Riven)ДЄs our team are busy playing Obduction for review, I know many of you may not know what this game is about, and many of you who do are wondering if it is worth obtaining.

God help you if you went in that train cart tunnel without knowing EXACTLY where you were going. Some of those 'Boss Puzzles' for each of the ages were downright cruel. Wondering why most of you haven't heard of that book? That's because this game is near impossible without 'some' form of assistance. If I recall correctly, from my childhood, there was only ONE 'good' ending and that involved the fireplace and the GREEN book. Probably the biggest piece of advice I can give for Myst is not to take everything at face value. If you know both of these, either from current, prior, or other people's playthroughs, you can easily get a good ending. If you don't know both of these, you can't quick solve the game.

The 'early ending' requires two pieces of prior knowledge one piece is hidden across two Ages, and the other piece is hidden across all of them, in the form of the Red and Blue Books. Heck, it can be solved in under 10 minutes if you know what you're doing :P

My question is if I have time but not all the time in the world is it worth my time to either play using a full walkthrough, getting help on only puzzles I find impossible and can't solve for an extended period of time, or trying purely solo? Is it any less rewarding doing either of the methods? Second, I also asked my friend to give me as much as a low down on puzzles that are especially hard and things I should know without blatantly giving spoilers or solutions to puzzles, and was wondering if there is anything I can do that will help me save time if I choose to play Myst solo. Now that i own realMyst one of the few things i remember is that few people could beat it without help. Hello I just bought realMyst back during the steam sale cause I played it before as a kid and was stupid enough not to get a real version instead getting the horrible 3ds port.
